Product: HP Officejet 6700
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi, just bought new HP ink for HP Officejet 6700 printer and now it gives me the following message: HP Printerhead installed is not intended for use in printer or damaged.  I have had the printer for 4 years.  The screen will not let me press the arrows or do any other search and have already turned on and off.  Any suggestions?  Is the life shelf for an HP printer @4 years?

@MISABEL, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

I see that the printer is in an error state, this could be an issue with the ink cartridges or the printer ink system. I'd recommend you follow the steps from the document  Error Indicates Faulty Printhead to isolate and resolve the issue.

 

Additionally, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware.
