My HP smart 580 suddenly blinks all lights. And I dont know what to do. This happens after I remove the ink catridge and install it again. Help me.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.

When all lights on your HP Smart Tank 580 blink, it usually indicates a printer error or incorrect cartridge installation. Since this happened after reinserting the ink cartridge, let’s try these steps:

Power Reset

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the printer and wall outlet.
  3. Wait 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the cord back in and power on the printer.

Check Ink Cartridges

  1. Open the ink access door.
  2. Remove both cartridges.
  3. Inspect for:
    • Protective tape still on the cartridge nozzles (remove if present).
    • Ink buildup or debris on contacts (clean gently with a lint-free cloth).
  4. Reinsert cartridges firmly until they click into place.

Check Display for Error Icons

From your photo, the display shows:

  • Exclamation mark (!) and blinking lights → Cartridge or system error.
  • Ensure cartridges are genuine HP and properly seated.

Update Firmware

If the printer powers on normally after reset:

Hard Reset if Issue Persists

If lights still blink:

  • Press and hold Cancel (X) + Wireless buttons together for 5 seconds to reset the printer.
