Whenever I try to print something, this notification pops up and I couldn't find the reason. When I troubleshot it appears to be ready to use. Does anyone know why?

Hi @Naz50,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing the screenshot! I can see the Windows Print Notification stating:

Error printing on HP Smart Tank 580–590 series
The printer couldn’t print Microsoft Word – B1+.5-NAZAN Tachers Timetable

This usually means the print job failed before reaching the printer, even though the printer shows as “Ready.” It’s often caused by driver issues, spooler errors, or communication glitches between Word and the printer.

Let’s fix this step by step:

Recommended Steps

  1. Restart the Print Spooler Service
    • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
    • Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click → Restart.
    • This clears stuck jobs and refreshes the print queue.

  2. Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver
  3. Run HP App
  4. Check Document Settings
    • Open the Word file → File > Print → Ensure the correct printer is selected.
    • Try printing as a PDF first. If the PDF prints fine, the issue is with Word’s rendering.

  5. Clear Pending Print Jobs
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners → Select your printer → Open Queue → Cancel all jobs.
  • Then retry printing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
