HP Smart Tank 7005 All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!

Don't know what to do: for two days, my HP Smart Tank 7005 is going crazy: sometimes the power button shines peacefully, sometimes the whole buttonery goes Christmas - all the buttons, but the Wi-Fi button. When I press the power button, nothing happens; the same with the Wi-Fi button: the printer won't go off, the connection won't work and there's nothing I can think of to fix it.

Already tried to disconnect the printer, the PC, the smartphone, the vacuum cleaner, without the slightest result.

Any suggestions?

@Qoro-s, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding yourHP Smart Tank 7005 All-in-One!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Since you've already tried unplugging the printer and other devices, let's go a step further with a hard reset:

Unplug the printer from the power source while it’s still on.

Disconnect any USB or Ethernet cables (if connected).

Wait for at least 60 seconds. This allows the internal power to drain completely.

Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet (skip surge protectors or power strips).

Turn the printer on and check if the buttons are behaving normally.

If the issue persists, it might be a firmware glitch. Try updating your printer’s firmware:

On a PC, go to HP support page and look for the latest firmware update for your model.

If the printer connects via USB or a network (when working), install the update.

If your printer is still unresponsive, let me know—there are a couple more steps we can try. We'll get this sorted! 😊

Looking forward to your update.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
