Hi, I purchased the HP Smart Tank 7300 printer a few days ago, I can scan and print but the photocopy buttons are not, nor have ever been lit. They do flash as the printer is turned on but they are off from that point on. I have updated all the software/ drivers from HPs site. I have gone thru the turn off for several minutes and then back on. Its plugged directly into the wall but no joy. Can someone please assist?

@Lackaa, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Smart Tank 7300 printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
You’ve already done a great job troubleshooting by updating the drivers and restarting the printer!
Since the copy buttons briefly light up at startup but remain off afterward, let’s try a few more steps to get them working:
Check for Firmware Updates – Even if you’ve updated the drivers, the printer's firmware might need an update. You can check this using the HP Smart App or by visiting HP firmware update page.
Perform a Power Reset –
Unplug the printer from the power source.
Wait about 5 minutes before plugging it back in.
Turn it on and see if the buttons light up.
Try a Copy Function Test – Even though the buttons aren’t lit, press the Black Copy or Color Copy button and see if the printer responds. Sometimes, the buttons may not be lit but still functional.
Factory Reset – If the issue persists, you can try resetting the printer to its default settings. To do this:
On the printer's touchscreen, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore.
Select Restore Factory Defaults and confirm.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, let me know, and we can explore further options, including warranty support if needed. 😊
Looking forward to hearing back from you!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
