HP Tango 3DP64A - paper is in printer but printer says no paper. I’ve tried cleaning the roller with lightly wet qtip, letting it dry, I’ve checked for debris, I’ve tried resetting multiple times, I’ve checked firmware. [edited]

Hi @Ad106,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I can imagine how exasperating it must be to see that “no paper” message even when you can clearly feel and see the paper sitting in the tray — especially after you’ve carefully cleaned the rollers and tried every fix you could think of.
Let's try a few steps and see how it goes. You may ignore the steps you have already tried.
- Inspect and reload the paper:
- Remove all paper from the tray.
- Ensure the paper is not curled, wrinkled, or torn. If it is, try a fresh stack.
- Fan the paper to separate the sheets before stacking them evenly in the tray.
- Adjust the paper guides so they are snug against the paper, but not so tight they cause the paper to buckle.
- Clean the paper feed rollers:
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
- Remove the paper from the tray and locate the rollers inside the tray area.
- Lightly dampen a lint-free cloth or cotton swab with water, squeeze out excess liquid, and clean the rollers by rotating them with your fingers.
- Allow the rollers to dry completely before reinserting the paper and plugging the printer back in.
- Clean the paper sensor:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Look for the paper sensor inside the paper path.
- Gently clean the sensor with compressed air to remove any dust or debris.
- Perform another reset:
- While the printer is on, disconnect the power cord.
- Wait at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
- Turn the printer back on and try to print again.
- Check for other obstructions:
- Look for any small pieces of paper or other foreign objects lodged in the paper path, even if they are not visible at first glance.
