@LauriePrescott, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP ENVY 6020e printer successfully prints a test page but doesn't print other documents, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Connectivity:

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the network properly. Check whether it is connected via Wi-Fi or a direct USB connection.
  • Verify that both your computer and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network if using a wireless connection.

Printer Status:

  • Make sure the printer is set as the 'Default Printer' in your computer's printer settings.
  • Check for any error messages or blinking lights on the printer that might indicate a problem.

Clear Print Queue:

  • Clear any pending documents in the print queue, as this can sometimes cause a bottleneck.

Driver and Software Updates:

  • Ensure that the printer drivers and software are up to date. Visit the HP Support Website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.

Print from Another Application:

  • Try printing a document from a different application to determine if the issue is application-specific.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off your printer, unplug the power cord, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check Paper and Settings:

  • Ensure that the correct paper type and size are selected in the print settings.
  • Load paper correctly in the input tray, and check for paper jams.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
