The printer does not turn on and the power button LED turns on but then turns off, if I press it it turns on and turns off or if I leave it pressed it turns on with bright light and then dim light.

I already disconnected it from the light for 60 seconds and also plugged it into the outlet directly. The problem continues.

Hi @JavierPalomares,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

It sounds like you’re experiencing a frustrating issue with your HP LaserJet 107W printer not powering on correctly. Let’s go through some questions and troubleshooting steps to help you identify and possibly resolve the issue with the power button and LED.

  • Have you confirmed that the printer is plugged into a working power outlet? Sometimes, the outlet itself can be the source of the problem.
  • Can you inspect the power cable for any visible signs of damage, such as fraying or cuts? A damaged cable can lead to inconsistent power supply.
  • Is the printer located in a well-ventilated area, or could it be overheated? Overheating can sometimes cause power issues as well.

Try the steps below.

  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and from the back of the printer. Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in securely.
  • This can reset the power connection and help the printer recognize the power supply.

Test a Different Power Outlet:

  • Try plugging the printer into a different outlet to rule out any issues with the original outlet.
  • This will help determine if the problem lies with the outlet itself rather than the printer.

Inspect the Power Cable:

  • Examine the power cable for any visible signs of damage. If you have a compatible spare power cable, try using that instead.
  • A faulty cable can prevent the printer from receiving the power it needs to function correctly.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • After unplugging the power cord, press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Then plug the printer back in and try to turn it on.
  • This can clear any temporary faults and help the printer boot up properly.

Check for Overheating:

  • Ensure that the printer is in a well-ventilated area and hasn’t been used for an extended period. Let it cool down if it feels warm.
  • Overheating can cause printers to shut down automatically as a safety precaution.

You may refer to this document for further assistance.

If the printer still does not turn on after these steps, it may indicate a more serious hardware issue that may require service.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hello @Elohi_NR.

Test a Different Power Outlet:

I changed place to connect another power outlet and I verified Volts in Power Outlet. The printer didn't work.

Inspect the Power Cable:

I changed the power cable three times and didn't work

Perform a Printer Reset:

I could not reset the printer because when it is turned on, the LED lights up strongly and then dimly. It does not detect any action that the buttons do.

Check for Overheating:

I verified if the printer had overheating and it was fresh and the place was ventilated.

"If the printer still does not turn on after these steps, it may indicate a more serious hardware issue that may require service. "

Think the same, it may be a hardware damage 😭

Thank you so much for your help and your time
