I messed with trying to print envelopes and now I try to print 8 1/2 x 11 pages and it prints offset as if I moved the margins on the left side.

Hi @MrTKA,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your printer settings may have been altered while attempting to print envelopes. Here's what you can do to troubleshoot and potentially fix the offset printing issue:

  • Check Printer Settings: Make sure the paper size and orientation settings in the printer properties match the paper you are using (8.5 x 11) and that no custom margins or offsets are set.
  • Reset Printer: Sometimes, resetting the printer to its default settings can resolve such issues. Look for a reset option in the printer settings menu or consult the printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
  • Restart Printer and Computer: Turn off both your printer and computer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn them back on. This can sometimes clear out any temporary glitches causing the offset printing problem.
  • Reinstall Printer Drivers: If the issue persists, try reinstalling the printer drivers on your Mac. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website and follow the installation instructions.
  • Print Test Page: Print a test page to see if the offset issue persists. If it does, there may be a hardware problem with the printer that requires further troubleshooting or repair.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
