Printer won't turn off, or do anything like printing. Unplugging the printer solves the problem but it is annoying when I have to do that all the time. I leave my printer on all day and overnight and that's when it doesn't respond. Not sure why. I tried waking it up by opening the lid but the lights on the control printing touchpad won't light up like it used to do when I open the lid. So what's the problem here doc?

Depending on the model of printer, (an important bit of information to include), it may be that the power save functions are set to turn the machine off after 8 hours. Download the manual from support.hp.com and check for energy settings.
