Hi @MGCwork2024

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Officejet printer is giving you trouble with recognizing ink cartridges despite being enrolled in HP Smart Ink, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Restart Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues with ink cartridges.
  • Check Smart Ink Enrollment: Double-check that your printer is indeed enrolled in HP Smart Ink. You can usually confirm this through the HP Smart app or the HP website.
  • Verify Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the ink cartridges you're using are compatible with your specific printer model. Using incompatible cartridges can lead to recognition issues.
  • Reinstall Cartridges: Try removing the ink cartridges from the printer and then reinserting them firmly. Make sure they are properly seated in their respective slots.
  • Clean Contacts: Sometimes, dust or debris can accumulate on the cartridge contacts or printer's contacts, preventing proper communication. Carefully clean these contacts with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab dampened with distilled water.

By going through these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue with your HP OfficeJet printer and its ink cartridge recognition.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
