the power supply isn’t getting through to the printer properly.  For no apparent reason when I’ve come to my printer to print it was like there was no power getting to it.

I’ve checked the plug socket works and replaced the power cable.

I tried unplugging leaving for 60 mins and a day and plugging back in and still nothing.

thanks

Jackie

if nothing lights up at all it is likely the power supply

Possibly parts list is here but replace G5J38AR with your serial number unless G5 is ok

https://partsurfer.hp.com/?searchtext=G5J38AR

Only disassembly video I could find

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heBrBNxbK4s&ab_channel=tiknik

if you see any lights blinking or a volt meter shows the power supply is OK then possibly the main logic board is bad.

If nothing lights up then measure voltage on power supply

https://www.ebay.com/itm/303557835333?_skw=hp+pro+7740+power+supply

I am guessing the three pins are ground, 12v and either 3 or 5 volts.

If you are lucky the voltage will be listed on the enclosure.

Might take it to a shop
