HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g

We are using  MacBook Pro with macOS Big Sur Version 11.1  Note: I have followed the HP troubleshooting directions and have successfully printed a few pages, but the above message returns to the screen on the printer and we can no longer print.

I have updated the printer driver software on the HP website too.

Should I remove the printhead and spray the gold contacts with electronics cleaner? Do I need to download new firmware?

Do I need to replace the printhead?

I appreciate your consideration and guidance.

Kevin

@McCloudfin, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you are not able to use the printer due to this error. Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - Error Indicates Faulty Printhead

If the error persists, I'm afraid, it seems like a hardware failure. I'd not recommend replacing the printhead as it may or may not resolve this issue and a printhead will cost as much as a new printer depending on its availability.

To buy the printhead, contact HP Store or local shops.

If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
