HP2700 wont feed paper through and ink level display is showing vertical stripes. No paper jam found

After printing a page successfully i tried to print another one but it came out with only a series of jet black dots above some short vertical streaks across the top of the page.  I checked the ink level display and this showed the colour cartridge content as a series of vertical stripes. when i tried printing again it started to feed the paper in but then stopped.  I went through all of the checks for a paper jam as shown on video and all was fine. I ran the HP toolbox diagnostic which didnt come up with any error.  Any ideas please?  unfortunately I dont have a new cartridge because, as usual my subscription to HP cartridge replacement  arrives too late.

i have sorted out the paper problem.  i hadnt clipped the panel back in properly umdeneath the printer when I was checking for a jam.

I tried printing again but this time only using the black cartridge and this worked so I must assume that replacing the colour cartidge (when it finally arrives) will sort out the problem
