@Marpogi, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

The blinking pattern you're seeing on your HP Smart Tank 415 All-in-One Printer, where six LEDs along with the Power button are flashing, typically indicates a cartridge or printhead error, especially when accompanied by:

Blinking Ink Level Icons (Tri-color & Black)

Blinking Resume (Paper icon) and Information buttons

A ‘E’ error code on the printer display

Here’s how you can troubleshoot this issue:

Check the Ink Tanks

Ensure the ink levels in all tanks are above the minimum line. Refill if any tank is low. Use genuine HP ink only.

Reset the Printhead Assembly

  • Turn ON the printer.
  • Open the front/top cover to access the printhead.
  • Wait for the carriage to move to the center.
  • Gently press down and re-seat both Black and Tri-color printheads.
  • Close the cover and wait for the printer to initialize.

Perform a Power Reset

  • While the printer is ON, unplug the power cable from the rear.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug the cable back in and power ON the printer.

Check for Printhead Error on Display

If the ‘E’ code persists along with blinking lights, it often signals:

A missing, unrecognized, or faulty printhead.

A need to align or clean the printhead.

Use the HP Smart app or printer control panel to:

  • Run a printhead cleaning
  • Attempt a printhead alignment

Update Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause unexpected errors. Download and install the latest firmware for HP Smart Tank 415: Official HP® Support
