HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One Printer

Hello, my printer was not printing so I tried to power off. It was not shutting down so I unplugged it. When plugging back in it would not start up and is making a low buzzing sound. Is there a fix?

Thank you

@Elliott27, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP 4630 not powering on!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One Printer is not starting up and making a low buzzing sound, there are a few steps you can take to potentially resolve the issue:

Check the Power Source:

  • Ensure the printer is plugged into a functioning power outlet.
  • Avoid using power strips or surge protectors; instead, plug the printer directly into the wall socket.

Power Reset:

  • Turn off the printer if it’s still partially powered on.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer and the wall outlet.

Inspect the Power Cord:

  • Examine the power cord for any visible damage. If the cord is damaged, it may need to be replaced.

Remove Any External Devices:

  • If there are any USB devices or memory cards inserted into the printer, remove them and try restarting the printer.

Check Internal Components:

  • Open the printer cover to check for any loose or disengaged parts.
  • Ensure that there is no paper jam or foreign object inside the printer.

Update Firmware:

  • If you can get the printer to power up intermittently, check for firmware updates via the HP support website that might address startup issues.

If none of these steps resolve the problem, it is possible that the issue is with the internal hardware of the printer.

I hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
