HP7500A - touch screen not working on touch screen control panel - lower right corner

The touch screen does not react in the right lower corner (where the "ok" button is). Because there is an error message after switching the printer on (regarding color cartridges) which I should quit, it is impossible to use e.g. the fax function of the printer anymore. Does it make sense to repair the display? How much will it cost? I just printed about 5000 pages and now the printer cannot be used anymore? Very bad design.

I checked already that the firmware is actual. Switched the printer with power hard reset off. I tried the trick using two fingers (one on the button and another one somewhere else on the screen), but this doesn't work in my case.
