Hi @2568,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The 62.80.A0 error on your HP OfficeJet 8022 typically points to a printhead failure or detection issue, even if there’s no paper jam or visible obstruction. I know how disheartening it can be when your printer suddenly stops cooperating, especially when you’ve already tried a hard reset. Let’s walk through the next steps with care.

Steps to Try Before Service

1. Power Reset (you’ve done this good!)

Let’s move to the next steps.

2. Reseat the Printhead

This step can often resolve detection issues:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Open the ink cartridge access door.
  3. Wait for the carriage to move to the center.
  4. Gently lift the latch on the printhead assembly.
  5. Carefully remove the printhead, then reinsert it firmly.
  6. Close the latch, shut the door, and plug the printer back in.

3. Clean the Printhead Contacts

Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water:

  • Gently wipe the copper-colored contacts on the printhead and inside the carriage.
  • Let everything dry for 5–10 minutes before reinserting.

4. Update Firmware (if accessible)

If the printer still boots to the home screen, try updating the firmware via the HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site or HP OfficeJet 8022 All-in-One Printer | HP® Support.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
