When I want to use hp support assistant my printer is recognize but when I want to add it the app tell me the serial is invalid.

  1. Verify Serial Number: Double-check the serial number to ensure that it has been entered correctly. Serial numbers can include letters and numbers, and it is essential to avoid any typos or confusions between similar-looking characters (such as '0' and 'O').

  2. Update HP Support Assistant: Ensure that you have the latest version of HP Support Assistant installed. You can download or update HP Support Assistant from the HP Support Assistant website.

  3. Connectivity: Ensure your HP printer is correctly connected to your network or PC. Sometimes, connectivity issues can cause the support assistant to not recognize the serial number.

  4. Re-add the Device: Try removing and then re-adding the printer in HP Support Assistant. This can sometimes resolve issues where the device is not being recognized.

  5. Manual Entry on Support Website: If the issue persists, you can manually enter your serial number on the HP Support page to get support and resources for your device.
