Pinter is taking forever to print with a significant pause between pages.  It makes a noise like the cartridges are moving,  then finally prints a page,  then stalls for a while again before the next page.  It also will tell me it is out of paper when there is plenty of paper.  Tried resetting and running the Print Doctor, but nothing helps.

Hi @InksEgger,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

  • Did you change any settings on the printer display or in the printer driver?

Check the printer preferences

  • Search Windows for printers, and then click Printers & scanners in the list of results.
  • Click your printer, and then click Manage.
  • Click Printing Preferences.
  • Click the Paper/Quality tab.
  • In the Paper Type field, make sure Plain Paper is selected.
  • In the Print Quality field, make sure Draft or Normal is selected.
  • Click OK or Apply to confirm the changes.

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.
