HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 All-in-One Printer

My 9010 is printing .docx with a wide left border and an incomplete page. Off-center, in other words. This was also happening with PDFs but reinstalling the driver seems to have fixed that. I've run and alignment check. It's ok.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi @A-B3 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 is printing .docx files off-center with a wide left border, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Print Settings:

  • Open the Word document you want to print.
  • Go to the "File" menu and select "Print."
  • In the Print dialog box, check the settings such as paper size, orientation, and margins. Make sure they match the actual paper and layout you intend to use.

Adjust Margins in Word:

  • Open the Word document.
  • Go to the "Layout" or "Page Layout" tab.
  • Click on "Margins" and select "Custom Margins."
  • Adjust the margins to your desired settings. Be sure they are within the printable area of your paper.

Printer Driver Update:

  • Ensure that your printer driver is up to date. Visit the official HP website, search for your printer model (HP OfficeJet Pro 9010), and download the latest driver.

Printer Preferences:

  • Access the printer preferences or properties through your computer's settings.
  • Check the paper size and layout settings to ensure they match the document and your intended print settings.

Check Paper Size:

  • Make sure the paper size selected in the printer settings matches the paper loaded in the printer.

Print Preview:

  • Before printing, use the print preview option in Word to see how the document will be printed. Adjust any settings that appear off.

Page Scaling:

  • In the print settings, ensure that page scaling is set to "None" or "Actual Size."

Try a Different Document:

  • Create a new Word document or try printing a different .docx file to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is specific to the document or a general printing issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-

All of the problems I was having were the result of defective cartridges I received from HP Instank Ink. The print problems completely resolved with the replacement cartridges I was sent. This took a long call to the 800 number where I found good help who promptly sent new cartridges.
