@JGW33, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP ENVY 6420e printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Check Power Connection:
- Ensure the printer is connected to a reliable power source.
- Verify that the power cable is securely connected both to the printer and the outlet.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it for about a minute.
- Plug it back into the power outlet and turn it on.
Check for Error Messages:
- Look at the printer's display panel for any error messages that could indicate what might be wrong.
Verify Wireless Connection:
- If you're using a wireless connection, ensure that the printer is connected to the correct network and that the signal is strong.
- Restart your router to refresh the network connection.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Make sure that your printer drivers are up-to-date.
- Visit the HP support website to download and install the latest drivers for your model.
Check Ink or Toner Levels:
- Low ink or toner levels can sometimes prevent printing operations. Verify the ink or toner levels or any indication that cartridges need replacement.
Print Queue and Settings:
- Clear any stalled print jobs in the print queue.
- Ensure that the printer is set as your default printer on your computer.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
