Hi @GGMac,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer will not turn off or connect to WiFi, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take:

To Turn Off the Printer

Power Reset:

  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer while it is still on.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and reconnect it to the printer.
  • Try to turn off the printer using the power button.

Check the Power Button:

  • Ensure the power button is not stuck or unresponsive. If it is, gently try to press it to see if it responds.

To Connect to WiFi

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your printer, router, and computer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the router, wait for 10 seconds, and then plug it back in.
  • Once the router is back online, try reconnecting the printer to WiFi.

Reset Network Settings on Printer:

  • On the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon.
  • Touch Settings.
  • Touch Restore Network Settings or Restore Network Defaults, and then confirm your selection.
  • This will reset the network settings to default.

Reconnect to WiFi:

  • After resetting the network settings, go to the Wireless setup on the printer.
  • Touch the Wireless icon on the control panel, then touch Settings.
  • Select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect to your WiFi network.

Check WiFi Network:

  • Make sure the printer is within the range of your WiFi network.
  • Ensure that your WiFi network is working properly and other devices can connect to it.

Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date. You can update the firmware using the HP Smart app or by downloading it from the HP support website.

Check for Interference:

  • Ensure there are no physical obstructions or electronic devices between the printer and the router that could cause interference.

HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. It can help diagnose and fix connectivity issues.

Factory Reset (as a last resort):

  • If the problem persists, you may need to perform a factory reset on the printer. Be aware that this will erase all settings and configurations.
  • To factory reset: Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, hold the power button for about 15 seconds, then reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
