Has anyone seen the error message that the printer requires "genuine" HP ink?

My printer has ink that I bought at Target that is supposed to be compatible with the Envy 6000 series.  I am getting this  message: These messages appear only for HP+ activated printers. HP+ requires an HP account, Internet connection, and use of Original HP Ink for the lifetime of the printer. Once activated, HP+ is embedded in the device and will require the use of Original HP Ink for the lifetime of the printer.
