HP LaserJet MFP M139we Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an hp laser jet M139we printer that suddenly refuses to print anything from my computer (also an hp).  I printed 2 envelopes 5 days ago and it has not worked properly since.   It has new toner cartridge but the internet button (blue button) continually blinks and has an exclamation mark underneath it.  Printer has not been moved so cannot determine why the internet light blinks.  Moved the printer today right next to router, still nothing.  Have reset router and shut down and restarted my computer.  I cannot find a phone number for HP and their site just goes around in circles.

I'm about to  trash this printer unless someone can help.

Hi @SharraKim,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

1. Check the Printer Connection

Ensure that the printer is properly connected to both power and the computer. If using a network connection, also check the network cables or Wi-Fi connection.

2. Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
  2. Unplug the printer from the power source.
  3. Wait for about 30 seconds.
  4. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

3. Check for Error Messages

The exclamation mark and blinking blue internet button suggest a connectivity issue. Follow these steps:

  1. Ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
  2. If you are using Wi-Fi, make sure the Wi-Fi network is working properly and the printer is within range.
  3. Restart your router.

4. Update Printer Firmware

  1. Go to the HP support website: HP Support.
  2. Enter your printer model "LaserJet M139" to find the latest firmware and driver updates.
  3. Download and install any available updates.

5. Reinstall Printer Driver

  1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.
  2. Uninstall the current printer driver from your computer.
  3. Go to the HP support website: HP Support.
  4. Download and install the latest driver for the HP LaserJet M139.
  5. Reconnect the printer to your computer.

6. Check Network Settings

  1. Print a network configuration report to check the current network status.
  2. Verify that the printer is connected to your network by checking the IP address on the configuration report.
  3. If necessary, reconfigure the network settings by connecting the printer to your computer via USB and using the HP Smart app or HP Easy Start to set up the Wi-Fi connection again.

I hope this helps.
