HP OfficeJet Pro 8720
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Please help! My MacBook Air can no longer print to OfficeJet Pro 8720. Printer indicates all is up to date. My Mac is equally up to date with Catalina version 10.15.7.  When I attempt to print, am informed there is a filter on the printer? Tried calling HP tech support and can get no one. Apple advises I speak with HP directly and will not guide me through the "deleting of HP drivers." Am lost. Thank you for your rescue.

The solution is to download (and install) this package which will update drivers AND THE CERTIFICATE:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-essen...

If the link comes up blank, try right clicking and saving it. If you install this package and still have trouble, try uninstalling your printer and reinstalling.

Easy Admin did nothing. Easy Startup did nothing. 5.1 drivers did nothing. This worked for me!

If this solved your issue, please thumbs up and mark as solved!

I'm trying to download the suggested file, but keep getting a message that safari can't continue with the download as it doesn't seem to be a valid file.

Right/control click, and save.

Try again. Link is still accurate/valid.
