Thank you for reaching out. For the HP Smart Tank 617 Wireless All-in-One, using the driver version 48.0.4261.18175 dated 6/24/2018, we recommend the following steps to ensure proper setup and functionality:
- Uninstall any older drivers:
- Go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program.
- Remove any HP printer software listed.
- Download and install the latest full-feature software:
- Visit HP’s official support page: HP Smart Tank 617 Wireless All-in-One Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support.
- Download the latest driver under “Software and Drivers.”
- Connect the printer:
- Use USB for a direct connection or follow the wireless setup wizard on the printer’s display.
- Ensure your PC and printer are on the same Wi-Fi network if setting up wirelessly.
- Run HP Smart App:
- Download from HP Smart - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store.
- Use it to complete the setup and check for firmware updates.
