Hi,

I have an HP Envy Photo 7130 and it currently only partially boots up, like it's frozen. The display is stuck on the usual start-up screen: HP logo, the blue bar filled up and the first blue bullet.

Hi @MJP44,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy Photo 7130 printer is stuck on the startup screen and not fully booting up, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you address this problem:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

Turn Off the Printer:

  • Press and hold the Power button until the printer turns off. If it doesn’t turn off immediately, keep holding the button for about 10 seconds.

Unplug the Printer:

  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and unplug it from the electrical outlet.

Wait and Reconnect:

  • Wait for about 60 seconds to ensure that all internal components have fully powered down.
  • Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and reconnect it to the printer.

Turn the Printer On:

  • Press the Power button to turn the printer back on and see if it completes the startup process.

2. Check for Any Physical Obstructions

Inspect for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer’s paper trays and check for any paper jams or obstructions inside the printer.

Check the Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and make sure the cartridges are properly seated and that there are no obstructions.

3. Update or Reinstall Firmware

Visit HP Support Website:

  • Go to the HP Support website and search for your HP Envy Photo 7130 printer.

Download Firmware:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model. Download the firmware update if it’s available.

Install Firmware:

  • Follow the instructions on the HP website to update the firmware. This usually requires connecting the printer to a computer with HP’s printer software installed.

4. Perform a Factory Reset

If the above steps don’t resolve the issue, you might need to perform a factory reset. This will reset the printer to its original settings and may resolve startup issues.

  • Navigate to Factory Reset:
    • On the printer’s display (if it’s responsive), go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.
    • If the display is not responsive, this step might not be possible, and you’ll need to contact HP support for further assistance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
