Direct-22-HP OfficeJet Pro 6970

I installed an update to my OfficeJet Pro 6970. Now my devices can’t find my printer without a password. I have no idea where to find the password or how to reset it. Please help!

Hi @Evhburgess

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the password issue.

You are prompted to enter the Wi-Fi direct password. From the printer's control panel, touch the Wi-Fi Direct icon  or open the Wi-Fi Direct settings menu to get the password.

If you are trying to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network, try these steps to disable Wi-Fi direct -

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch  (Wi-Fi Direct).

2. Touch ( Settings ).

3. If the display shows that Wi-Fi Direct is on, touch Wi-Fi Direct and then switch it off.

Run the Wireless Wizard from the printer's control panel -

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch (Wireless).
2. Touch ( Settings ).
3. Touch Wireless Settings.
4. Touch Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Protected Setup.
5. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
