There was a power outage. When I turned my printer back on, the lights have been blinking, and the screen shows Error Code 0xb13ce44f.

Hi @Huvuvu,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3835 is showing Error Code 0xb13ce44f after a power outage, with blinking lights on the panel. Let’s go through a few steps to help resolve this issue.

a. Perform a Power Reset

With the printer switched on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

Unplug the cord from the wall outlet as well.

Wait for about 60 seconds to discharge any residual power.

Plug the power cord directly into the wall outlet (avoid using surge protectors or extension cords).

Reconnect the cord to the printer and turn it back on.

b. Check for Cartridge Issues

Open the cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to move to the center.

Remove both black and tri-color cartridges.

Inspect for ink leakage, bent contacts, or tape still on the copper-colored contacts.

Wipe the contacts gently with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.

Allow them to dry for a few minutes and then reinstall both cartridges securely.

c. Run a Printer Self-Test

Press and hold the “#” (Pound) and “9” keys together while powering on the printer.

This runs an internal reset or partial diagnostic that can clear minor firmware or electrical faults.

d. Check for Paper or Carriage Obstructions

Make sure there’s no jammed paper inside the rear access door or under the carriage.

Move the carriage manually (gently) from side to side to ensure it’s not stuck.

e. Firmware Recovery (if available)

Connect the printer to a computer via USB cable.

Open the HP Smart app or HP Printer Assistant → select your printer → Check for updates.

If prompted, allow a firmware update to run — it can clear post-outage corruption.

f. Power Cycle Once More

After all the above, unplug the printer again for 30 seconds, reconnect, and turn it back on.

Check if the error persists.

I hope this helps.
