Hi @56233087,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’re seeing Error 0x800f0206 when trying to access your Microsoft account. This error usually occurs due to issues with Windows system files, account configuration, or Microsoft services. Let’s go through steps to resolve it:

1. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter

Press Windows + I → Update & Security → Troubleshoot → Additional troubleshooters → Windows Update → Run the troubleshooter.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

Restart your PC and try signing in again.

2. Check Date & Time Settings

Incorrect system date/time can cause Microsoft account errors.

Press Windows + I → Time & Language → Date & Time.

Enable Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically.

Restart your PC.

3. Clear Cached Credentials

Press Windows + S → Credential Manager → Windows Credentials.

Remove any stored Microsoft account credentials.

Restart the PC and sign in to your Microsoft account again.

4. Reset Microsoft Store (if related)

Sometimes account errors are tied to the Microsoft Store:

Press Windows + R → wsreset.exe → Enter.

A command window will open, reset the Store cache, then the Store will open.

5. Check System Files

Press Windows + X → Windows Terminal (Admin).

Run the following commands one by one:

sfc /scannow

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

These will repair corrupted system files that may block account access.

I hope this helps.
