I installed the HP Smart app when i installed this printer. Its printing on 2 sides and i want to completely disable it (turn it off permanently) but cant seem to find out how to do this. I can turn it off when i print an item but it doesn't remove it for the next item. I want duplex off! Please help.

You could disable the printer's ability to automatically print duplex in Winows 10 as follows:

 

Click the Start orb.

Open the Devices and Printers folder (click Windows, Control Panel, Devices and Printers).  Right click on the Officejet Pro 8020 series,  Printer Properties, Device Settings, Installable Options and set the Automatic Duplexing to not installed, Apply, OK.

 

The above would turn off the duplex option in the print driver.  You may have to close and reopen the driver settings if you had a printer settings window open.

 

I am curious why you would want to do this - are you mostly printing photo's or other documents that would need to be single sided? For me the duplexer is a must have feature.
