I am unable to print.  It attempts to fax.

I understand your HP printer is attempting to send a fax instead of printing. The issue may relate to configuration settings on the device. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
 


Check Default Printer:
 

  • Ensure your printer is set as the default printing device. Navigate to your computer's printing settings and verify the default printer setting.


Printer Setup:
 

  • If your printer supports both printing and faxing, ensure that the printer setup is properly configured for printing tasks.
  • Ensure your printer is connected to the correct port if you are using wired connections like Ethernet.


Review Fax Settings:
 

  • If there is an option to enable or disable PC Fax Send on the device, ensure it's configured for your intended use. Typically, this can be managed through the printer's administration menu or control panel.

Driver Installation:
 

  • Make sure you have the correct printer driver installed, not a fax driver. You can usually find the latest driver on the https://support.hp.com/us-en  by searching with your printer's model number.


Manual Fax Settings:
 

  • Review the fax setup and ensure that the device's default job functions are not inadvertently set to fax. You can often adjust these settings in the administration or initial setup menu of the device.
