Hi @Teddy87,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP ENVY 6055 keeps showing an E0 error even after cleaning the cartridge contacts. Let’s go through the proper steps to clear it.

1. Power Cycle the Printer

Turn off the printer.

Unplug the power cord from the wall and the printer.

Wait 60 seconds.

Plug it back in and turn on the printer.

Sometimes, this clears temporary errors.

2. Re-seat the Cartridges

Open the cartridge access door.

Remove both cartridges.

Inspect them for:

Plastic protective tape still attached

Dirt or damage

Gently clean the gold contacts with a lint-free cloth.

Reinsert cartridges firmly until they click.

3. Check for Cartridge Compatibility

Make sure you are using genuine HP 65/65XL cartridges (or the exact model your printer requires).

Non-HP or refilled cartridges can trigger persistent E0 errors.

4. Reset Printer to Factory Defaults

On the printer screen, go to:
Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults

Confirm the reset and wait for the printer to restart.

This clears any internal memory errors.

5. Update Printer Firmware

Go to HP Support > Software & Drivers > select ENVY 6055 > Firmware.

Install the latest firmware; outdated firmware can cause persistent cartridge errors.

6. Try a Different Cartridge (Optional)

If possible, test with a new genuine HP cartridge to ensure the current one isn’t faulty.

I hope this helps.
