How to move the ink carriage to the left to remove the ink cartridges with no power.

HP Recommended
HP 8620
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP 8620, one day was fine and next day will not power on and boot up.  The inside carriage light is on.  Tried everything recommended from HP and even swapped out the power supply.  The inside light comes on but the printer still does not power up.  If the printer is DOA and only good for a boat anchor then how do I get the ink cartridges out so that I can use them in my 8600 printer??   I need help please.

Problem solved. I put my whole hand inside and simply pulled it over to the left and then removed the cartridges.  I'll tie a rope to it now and use it as a boat anchor unless someone can tell me how to get it to power back on.

Hi @GAJ66,

If you have already performed the steps from the document Printer Does Not Turn On and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Hope this helps!
