My HP Multifunction 1530 model number is of HP printer. It was fine earlier, but I had switched it off for 2-3 days. Today I turned it on, but it is not turning on. I checked with a tester to see if there is a current in the cable. There is a current in the cable, but the switch is not turning on. What could be the reason for this?
I have tried bypassing voltage stabiliser and switching the printer cable directly to the socket and also changed the socket to ensure that the fault doesn’t lie in the socket but nothing worked.
kindly help me out with this problem

Hi @Raja-Ali,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
If your HP Multifunction 1530 printer is not turning on despite checking the power cable and socket, and you’ve tried bypassing the voltage stabilizer, the issue could be related to several potential factors. Here are some steps to further diagnose and resolve the problem:
1. Check the Power Button and Power Supply
Power Button:
- Ensure that you are pressing the power button correctly. Sometimes the button might need to be pressed firmly or held for a few seconds.
Power Supply:
- If your printer uses an external power supply (brick), check if it is functioning correctly. You might need to test it with a multimeter or try another compatible power supply if available.
2. Inspect the Printer for Physical Issues
Check for Obvious Damage:
- Look for any visible signs of damage to the printer, power cable, or power supply. Damaged components could prevent the printer from turning on.
Check for Paper Jams or Internal Issues:
- Ensure that there are no paper jams or internal obstructions that could be affecting the printer's ability to start up.
3. Perform a Hard Reset
Unplug the Printer:
- Disconnect the printer from the power source and wait for about 5-10 minutes.
Reconnect and Try Again:
- Plug the printer back in and try turning it on again. Sometimes a hard reset can resolve power issues.
4. Check the Printer’s Internal Fuses
- Inspect for Internal Fuses:
- Some printers have internal fuses that might blow and prevent the printer from turning on. If you are comfortable doing so, check the internal fuses. However, this might require technical expertise and could void any warranty.
5. Check for Error Codes or Lights
- Error Indicators:
- If the printer has any LED indicators or display panels, check for any error codes or lights that might provide clues about the issue.
6. Consult the User Manual
- Refer to the Manual:
- Check the user manual for any troubleshooting steps or advice related to power issues. The manual might provide specific instructions for your printer model.
By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue with your HP Multifunction 1530 printer.
