HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I had a document jam. Cleaned it out but now the print outs had clear lines on the print out. Please advise on how to get  my printer to work correctly again.. I have gone back in to the printer to make sure nothing is loose. Put in fresh paper in the letter size paper slot, closed it, pull out the paper tray chaughter.  Put in previously printed page in top copy slot nd ask the printer to copy it and at which time it came out with empty lines on the document. @stayhome1, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like the paper jam caused some misalignment or damage to the printer’s internal components, and now the lines are appearing on your printed pages. Here are some troubleshooting steps specific to your HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e All-in-One Printer to help resolve the issue:

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer.

  • Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer and from the power source.

  • Wait for about 1-2 minutes.

  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the printer’s internal components.

Check for Paper Debris or Ink Smears

  • After a paper jam, it’s common for small bits of paper or ink smears to remain inside the printer, which could cause print quality issues.

  • Open the printer and inspect the paper feed rollers, printhead area, and inside the paper tray for any leftover pieces of paper or ink stains.

  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water (or some mild cleaning solution) to gently wipe down the inside of the printer.

  • If you find any loose paper debris, carefully remove it.

Check the Printhead

  • If the lines are caused by printhead issues, it may be a clogged or misaligned printhead.

  • Open the printer and remove the ink cartridges.

  • Carefully inspect the printhead for any visible blockages or ink buildup.

  • If you see ink residue, you can clean the printhead using a soft, lint-free cloth.

  • Check for alignment: After cleaning, you may want to realign the printhead. This can be done via the printer’s control panel or through the HP Smart app on your computer.

Run Printer Diagnostics (via HP Smart App)

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.

  • Select your printer and look for any diagnostic tools.

  • Run the “Print Quality Diagnostic” or any other troubleshooting options available. This can help identify if there is an issue with the printhead or ink.

Perform a Printer Self-Test

  • You can run a self-test report directly from the printer:

    • From the printer’s control panel: Go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Print Quality Report.

  • This will help you determine if the issue is related to ink cartridges or the printhead.

Check the Printer’s Paper Path

  • Sometimes, a jam can leave behind misaligned or damaged rollers inside the paper path, which could cause print quality issues.

  • If you haven’t already, check the paper feed rollers inside the printer for any wear or damage.

  • If the rollers appear dirty or worn, you may need to clean or replace them.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
