Two weeks ago I installed new roll of paper in a printer. One day after that ink was empty, and I get more now. Well, I installed new inks, and now printer says that

Printer Failure. There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP.

I had turned it on and off, no change.

This issue often arises when a seal fails in the printhead, causing ink to leak into the printer. Open the ink door to move the carriage to the left side and then examine the right side where the carriage parks. If you see ink on surfaces then most likely the printhead has failed and will need to be replaced. You can also remove the cartridges from the printhead and look for ink in the area where the cartridges are inserted into the printhead. Ink there would also be a sign that you have printhead leakage.
