That error usually means the printhead isn't being recognized properly. Let's go through some steps to troubleshoot your HP OfficeJet Pro 7610:
1. Reseat the Printhead
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the printer’s access door and remove the printhead.
- Clean the gold contacts on the printhead with a lint-free cloth.
- Reinstall the printhead firmly and close the door.
- Turn the printer back on and check if the error clears.
2. Perform a Hard Reset
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back.
- Wait 60 seconds and plug it back in.
- Turn the printer on and check if the issue persists.
3. Check for Firmware Updates
- Visit HP’s official support site to download the latest firmware.
- Install it via HP Smart or directly through the printer’s menu.
4. Run Printhead Cleaning Cycle
- On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Settings → Printer Maintenance → Clean Printhead.
