HP Smart Tank 7602 All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 11

HP Smart Tank 7602 has never been fully functional. Tried uninstalling app and reinstalling it numerous times and now it is impossible to reinstall app. Hp Smart app only displays blank screen.  Also tried updating Windows 11 a number of times. On account the printer would be visible on devices but never has been visible in the Printers window of my account. This device has become increasing stressful to deal with and is now useless. I still have the receipt and would like to have a refund. Store where purchased, Office Depot, said I have to send this thing back to HP. How do I proceed?

I understand your HP Smart Tank 7602 has never worked properly, and now the HP Smart app shows only a blank screen when you try to reinstall it. You’ve also mentioned that the printer appears under devices but not in the Printers list, and you would like to know how to proceed with a refund or replacement. Let’s go through a few steps to check what can be done next.

Restart Printer and Computer

Turn off your printer and computer, then power them back on.

This helps clear temporary communication or installation errors.

Uninstall HP Smart Completely

Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl, and press Enter.

Uninstall HP Smart and any other HP printer-related software listed.

After uninstalling, go to C:\Users[YourName]\AppData\Local\Packages and delete the folder AD2F1837.HPPrinterControl... (this removes any corrupted HP Smart data).

Reinstall HP Smart from Microsoft Store

Open Microsoft Store, search for HP Smart, and click Get to install it again.

After installation, restart your PC and sign in to your HP account when prompted.

Install the Full Feature Software (Not Just HP Smart)

Visit the HP Support website → Enter your printer model HP Smart Tank 7602.

Download and install the Full Feature Software and Drivers package.

This includes the full printing, scanning, and maintenance utilities that HP Smart alone may not provide.

Re-add the Printer Manually

Go to Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners → Add Device.

Select The printer that I want isn’t listed → Add a printer using TCP/IP address.

Enter the printer’s IP address (found on the printer’s control panel under Wireless Settings → Network Summary).

I have had the same problem wth the 7602.   I am a Mac user!  Same issues as the prevfious member.  It seemed to be prinIting  I went back in, printer this time had stopped and was in the setup language screen. I could not get it to functiton.  Tried unplugging for 1 min, even left it unplugged all night.  I even unplugged for one minute and then pressed the start button for 20 seconds and nothing happened. Printer no longer appears on my computer.   I cannot get it out of the language screen and have no idea what else to do. I purchased it at Best Buy.  Best Buy said that they were not responsible for anything wrong with the printer,  that this was HP’s problem. Asked someone at the Best Buy Geek Squad if they had ever seen this before and he said that it was probably simultaneous failure of hardware and HP Smart Tank 7602 software.  What do I do now?

Same thing here with a Smart Tank 6001 with a total of 29 pages printed. Try remove the plug itself from the outlet then connect the neutral to the hot on the two blade plug  ( I used a butterknife) to force a full circuit bleed off. Try 5-10 minutes then replace to power and see if symptoms change or disappear.
