iOS
Hp envy 5640 now requires password even connected to the network. Tried to entered the same password for the network ; it did not work. Tried to reset to the network default as suggested by forum; still did not work

How do I get it working again?

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. It is odd that your printer is requesting the use of a password. 

 

So that I can better assist you, can I know what you are attempting to do and when are you prompted for the password.

Also, you have iOS as your operating system. What version?

Now the printer brought down from upstairs to downstairs close to the router then it was working fine.
( the signal was very strong when the printer was upstairs - all other devices ( iPad , iPhones etc ) were working fine when they were upstairs

I have the same problem which has suddenly stopped me printing anything from my iPad. No prob before today.

HP Envy 5640 series printer this morning asking for password on iPad. Have retrieved password through printer - password was rejected. Tried to print through Macbook pro - just one blank page is showing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled printer. No difference. I have had this printer for eleven months and it's produced hundreds of pages without ever asking for a password.  Any suggestions please - or is it easier to return it to the store and replace it?
