Hi @Karakala1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Here are some troubleshooting steps for your HP Envy 7858 printer that is stuck on the first dot during startup.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait 60 seconds to allow residual power to drain from the printer.
  • Plug the power cable back in, and then press the power button to turn it on.
  • Check if the printer gets past the first dot on the screen.

Check for Blockages

  • Open the printer and check for any obstructions or paper jams that may be causing issues during startup. Make sure that all internal components are clear.

Check the Power Supply

  • Ensure the printer is plugged directly into a working wall outlet (avoid using a power strip or surge protector).
  • Try a different outlet if the printer still doesn't boot up properly.

Update Firmware (if possible)

  • If you are able to get the printer to boot temporarily or access it via a PC, check for any firmware updates on the HP website:
    • Go to the HP Support website.
    • Enter your printer model (HP Envy 7858).
    • Download and install any available firmware updates.

Factory Reset

  • If you're able to access the printer menu, you can try resetting it to factory defaults:
    • Go to the Setup menu > Tools > Restore Factory Defaults.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
