When I print directly and do not use the Epson app, it prints a quarter of the page and comes up cancelling printing due to an error. It has always done this from day 1, but because it’s worked with app I haven’t worried. But now with my cricut machine I need it to print normally and not via the app?? And suggestion.

Hi @Jacky_13

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I hear your frustration—having a printer cancel jobs mid‑page is disruptive, especially now that you need it to work smoothly with your Cricut setup. Since it’s been happening from the start, it’s important we isolate whether this is a driver, connection, or settings issue before diving into fixes.

Could you share a bit more detail about:

  • The exact model name of your printer (you mentioned “HP Envy 970,” just want to confirm the full model number).

  • Whether you’re connecting the printer via USB, Wi‑Fi, or Bluetooth when printing directly.

  • The application you’re printing from when the error occurs (Word, Cricut Design Space, browser, etc.).

  • If the cancellation happens with all file types (PDF, images, text documents) or only certain ones.

  • Whether the printer shows any error code or message on its display when the job cancels.

With those details, I’ll be able to pinpoint whether this is a driver mismatch, a communication issue, or something in the print job itself. Would you like to start by confirming the connection type you’re using when printing directly?

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,
