Hi @Doug67fox,
Thank you for the response.
Your HP printer is displaying a message indicating that it cannot print due to an expired warranty, it's important to understand that the message is likely related to the ink or toner cartridge, not the printer itself. Here are steps you can take to resolve the issue and restart printing:
Check Ink or Toner Cartridge:
- Ensure that you are using genuine HP cartridges. Non-HP cartridges or refilled cartridges might trigger warranty-related messages.
- Verify the ink or toner cartridge is correctly installed and not reaching the end of its yield.
Replace Expired Cartridge:
- If you continue to see warranty expiration messages, consider replacing the expired cartridge with a new genuine HP cartridge.
Clearing Error Messages:
- Restart the printer by turning it off, unplugging it for a minute, and then plugging it back in and turning it on.
- Check the printer settings to ensure it does not have any lock or restrictions related to expired cartridges.
Resetting the Printer:
- You may attempt a factory reset of the printer if available in the printer settings or menu. Please consult the HP LaserJet M110w manual for specific instructions since procedures vary by model.
I hope this helps.

Hi @Doug67fox,
Thanks for your reply, and I'm really sorry to hear that you're still facing the issue, even after replacing the cartridge. I totally understand how frustrating that can be, but don’t worry, we’re not giving up yet. I’m here to help you through it, step by step! 💪✨
Let’s try the following additional steps to get your HP LaserJet M110w back up and printing:
1. Update Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware might cause cartridge validation issues.
Download and install HP Smart on your computer or smartphone.
Connect your printer via USB or Wi-Fi.
Go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Tools > Printer Updates (or similar path depending on your device).
Check for and install the latest firmware.
2. Disable Cartridge Protection (if available)
Some older printers may have cartridge protection enabled.
In HP Smart or via the Embedded Web Server (EWS):
Go to Settings > HP Cartridge Protection > Disable it.
Save the settings and restart your printer.
3. Factory Reset (Hard Reset)
To wipe any stubborn firmware flags:
Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
Hold down the Wireless and Cancel (X) buttons.
While holding, plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Keep holding the buttons until the attention light blinks.
Note: This resets network and settings but not firmware.
4. Try Printing from Another Device
Sometimes, the issue may be host-related. Try sending a print job from another phone, tablet, or PC using the HP Smart app.
I hope this helps.
