hp neverstop
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have an HP neverstop printer replaced by HP a few months ago.  I get the out of paper error daily when the paper is full.  I run a small business from my home, if I print the last piece of paper in the printer and i am in hte middle of a job, I can fill the paper and print with no problem.  However, if I am running labels or printing label singly and the paper runs out, I fill it and then go to print something else, it gives me an out of paper error.  Then I have to unplug the printer for a few minutes, then plug it back in and then wait up to a half hour for it to print the job.  I have tried the fixes on the help page, how can I fix this permanently?

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that your printer is not picking up paper, I am glad to assist you.

Check and clean inside the printer

Dust, paper fiber, and other debris might accumulate on the pickup roller and cause paper feed issues. Clean the pickup roller inside the printer, and then try to print again.

  1. Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer, and then wait for the printer to cool.

       WARNING:

You must disconnect the power cord before reaching inside the printer to avoid risk of injuries or electric shock.

  2. Remove the input tray cover.

  3. Remove any paper from the input tray.

  4. Remove any paper from the output tray.

  5. Open the top cover.

  6. Using the handle, pull the imaging drum up and out to remove it, and then set it aside.

       CAUTION:

To prevent damage, do not expose the imaging drum to light or touch the green roller. Cover it with a piece of paper.

  7. Check for jammed paper and debris, and then remove it.

       CAUTION:

Carefully pull jammed paper straight away from the printer with both hands. Pulling jammed paper at an angle can damage the printer.

  8. Lightly dampen a lint-free cloth with bottled or distilled water, and then squeeze any excess liquid from the cloth.

  9. Clean the pickup roller, applying a moderate amount of pressure.

  10. Allow the pickup roller to dry completely (approximately 10 minutes).

  11. Hold the imaging drum by the handle, align it with the tracks, and then insert it into the printer.

  12. Close the top cover.

  13. Plug the power cord into the rear of the printer, and then turn on the printer.

  14. Lift the output tray extension, and then try to print.

The printer will pick paper. The problem is that if the paper goes out, I fill it and then go to print a job, it still says out of paper on the print queue, but not the printer.  Then I have to unplug the printer, then plug it in and then wait for up to 30 minutes for the paper to finally print.

I updated the firmware and still have this issue.  Additional, now it is telling me I have a paper jam, but the jam was cleared.  I have tried turning it off for a while but still saying there is a paper jam, I have checked every part of this printer I can check and I see nothing.
