I have to say that I am very close to putting this printer into the bin and switching to a rival

I have only had this printer since August and for roughly the 10th time I am having to manually delete the drivers and reinstall them due to the printer always reverts to monochrome and the only way to change it is by deleting drivers. I pay for instant ink so I am wasting pages every month just trying to get the thing to work.

Sadly I am past the time for an amazon refund where I purchased it so I need help to try and resolve this issue or it really is going to be chucked into the bin.

So I dont need any help in deleting the drivers or re installing them because I can do that no problem what I need help with is how to stop the bloody thing reverting back to monochrome the next time I try to use the printer.

Apologies for my whinge, I am just very frustrated by this machine.

Any help would be appreciated.

@Hcull, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I understand your concern. Instead of using the printer drivers, we can try using Windows built-in drivers. Here is how you can try them-

•   Uninstall the existing printer drivers and restart the PC. Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.

•    When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.

•    Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.

Refer to this document HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver for help.

Also, with regards to your Instant Ink page usage, I shall try to help you 🙂

To assist you better, We would need some information related to your Instant Ink Subscription. This information cannot be shared on a public post.
