@Ginpun, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Smart Tank 7000 Printer Control Panel Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you found that your HP Smart Tank 7000 printer was working fine but now the control panel lights are off and buttons are unresponsive, follow these troubleshooting steps:

Check Power Status:

  • Ensure the power cord is correctly connected to the printer and the power source.
  • Verify that the power outlet is functioning by plugging in another device.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait approximately 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and the printer.
  • Turn on the printer.

Update or Reset Printer Firmware:

  • Sometimes firmware issues can cause the control panel to become unresponsive. Check for any available updates or perform a firmware reset.

Ensure All Doors are Closed:

  • Make sure that all printer access doors are properly closed. An open door might trigger a safety interlock stopping certain functions.

Check for Error Messages:

  • Observe if any additional error lights or codes appear after attempting a reset. Refer to the manual or HP support website for specific error codes and their solutions.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
