  • I was clearing a paper jam. I noticed a loose white piece down inside. Looks like maybe a paper guide.  I cannot tell where this piece goes

@Misslindy That looks like a pickup roller support guide, and it could be complicated to put back in and may require a technician to get the job done, that said, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

here's how private messages work: Click here for details.

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.

@Misslindy If it's the paper guide it can be fixed back on its place, however, to understand exactly which part you are referring to,

I'll need to see it, which brings me to the only question I have for you, could you share a picture of the part with the issue? 1 or 2 pics should do.

P.S: Welcome to HP Community 😉

Keep us posted,

And the answer to the above question will help me, help you!

Keep me posted, and if any of the above questionnaires helped resolve the issue,

Mark this post as an "Accepted Solution".

Good luck.

I sent an email back to you but it doesn’t appear you received it.  So I’m replying this way.  I’m a new member and not sure how to use this yet. Anyway here’s a picture:
