Hi @CSJ61

If your HP DeskJet 4100 series printer is having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  1. Power Cycle the Printer: Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and power it on. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

  2. Check Wi-Fi Network: Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is active and functioning. You can verify this by checking if other devices can connect to the Wi-Fi.

  3. Place Printer Close to Router: Make sure your printer is within the range of your router's Wi-Fi signal. If it is too far away, it may not be able to maintain a stable connection.

  4. Connect Printer to Wi-Fi Network:

    • On the printer's control panel, access the Wireless settings or Setup menu.
    • Select the Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your Wi-Fi network. You'll need to know your Wi-Fi network SSID (name) and password.
  5. Use HP Smart App: Download and install the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer. This app can help guide you through the process of connecting the printer to your network.

  6. Check Router Settings: Ensure that the router does not have MAC address filtering enabled. If it does, you may need to add the MAC address of the printer to the router's whitelist.

  7. Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can do this via the HP Smart App or by visiting the HP Support website.

  8. Restart Router: Sometimes, simply restarting your router can resolve connectivity issues. Unplug it from power, wait for 30 seconds, and plug it back in.

  9. Check for Interference: Ensure there are no electronic devices that could interfere with the Wi-Fi signal, such as microwaves or cordless phones, between your router and printer.

  10. Reset Network Settings:

    • On the printer, go to the Wireless settings, and select the option to Restore Network Settings or Restore Network Defaults. After resetting, try connecting again.

I hope this helps!
