Hi @Darryl682,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When the "I" button on an HP printer is lit up in orange, it usually indicates an issue that needs attention. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and clear the error.

  • Check for Paper Jams: Open the printer cover and check for any paper jams. If you find any, carefully remove the jammed paper.
  • Check Ink or Toner Levels: If your printer uses ink or toner cartridges, check if they are low or empty. Replace any cartridges that are low or empty.
  • Restart Printer: Sometimes, simply restarting the printer can clear minor issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check for Hardware Issues: Ensure that all printer hardware components are properly installed and there are no visible signs of damage.
  • Reset Printer: Some HP printers have a reset option in the settings menu. You can try resetting the printer to its default settings.
  • Update Firmware/Driver: Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. You can usually find the latest updates on the HP support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
